ETAP, the Tunisian National
Oil Company, would like to extend a warm
invitation to you to attend the Tenth Tunisian
Exploration & Production Conference which will
be held in Tunis from 13th to 18th October 2008 in
El Mouradi Hotel Gammarth.
As in the past conferences, the EPC'2008 will
bring together, explorationists and engineers
from the oil and gas industry and the university,
to address current issues faced by the oil and
gas industry, exchange ideas and experiences,
improve your knowledge and skills and discuss
business.
The general theme of the conference will be
“New hydrocarbon exploration targets and
gas development challenges”.
The conference programme will include two day
technical oral and poster sessions and technical
exhibits, and two post-conference field trips.
In addition to the technical side of the
conference, delegates and accompanying persons
will be provided with a number of recreational
events including a day tour program, creating an
atmosphere for free exchange of ideas and
relaxation.

FIELD TRIPS
Two post-Conference field trips are programmed
from 16th through 18th October , 2008.
FIELD TRIP F1
The post conference field trip F1 will focus on
“the numidian in Northern Tunisia :
a challenging gas target”.
The siliciclastic gravity deposits of the
Oligo-miocene flysh in Northern Tunisia, where
several sandstone bodies corresponding to
channels and lobes, represent a potential
reservoirs intercalates within a tick shaly
intervals, an efficient seals.
The identification of shaly source rock levels
an oil seepage of the sandy levels indicate
active numidian flysch petroleum system.
Date: October 16-18, 2008

FIELD TRIP F2
The post conference field trip F2 will focus on
“Oil seeps and source rocks in Northern
Tunisia”.
This field trip is designed for experienced
explorationists and engineers as an opportunity
to provide geological and geochemical overview
of oil seeps and source rocks occurring in Northern Tunisia and to examine
and discuss the petroleum prospectivity of the
area.
Date: October 06-18, 2008
Leaders: M. Saidi (ETAP), H. Belayouni (FST)and
A. Meskini (ETAP).
The two field trips will demonstrate that the
northern Tunisia is very promising.

to be followed by 5 minutes for discussion. A

Location. Hotel Mouradi Gammarth is located in
Gammarth, Tunisia, 25 kilometres north-east of
Tunis. Tunis-Carthage International Airport is
